8 Best Features of the Galaxy S9
Contents
Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ might look similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ but it has a ton of new features worth looking into. Not only did Samsung add new photographic features but boosted the superfast processor and speakers. Samsung also takes customization a step further and allows you to add the little changes you want to get that proper user experience. Here are some of the best features of the Galaxy S9 and S9+.
New colors:
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ comes in a number of sophisticated colors to choose from, Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Titanium Grey and Lilac Purple. And if these colors don’t catch your attention, Samsung just unveiled two new colors to choose from; sunrise gold and burgundy red. The colors are deep and have the finishing glossy touch that makes it seem sleeker. All in all, you probably won’t get sick of staring at the same phone color again and again.
Customization:
Samsung as mentioned before can be way more customized than iPhones. It has a ton of options for you to go through, changing the graphics or layout choices. Then there are some features that need to be mentioned. For example, you can make the screen less harsh looking at night by the Blue Light Filter or you can squeeze more apps onto your home screen. You can change the vibration pattern for notifications, including phone calls.
Fingerprint sensor location changed:
Now we all loved the Galaxy S8 but the location of the fingerprint sensor was not cutting the deal. Samsung placed the sensor right next to the camera so when trying to unlock the phone, the lens would get smudged. Thankfully, that has changed, now the sensor is beneath the camera and you can use it without smudging your lens.
Slow-motion video:
Yes, we’ve seen this feature in other smartphones too but the S9 is taking it further. With the S9 camera, you can slow down clips to 960 frames per second. In other words, you can take a 0.2-second video and turn it into a 6-second video. Did we also mention your clip is at 720p resolution at each frame?
Intelligent Scanning:
The Galaxy S8 offered three ways of authenticating your identity: facial recognition, iris scanning, and fingerprint sensor. The S9 has a fourth method, called the Intelligent Scan which combines facial recognition and iris scanning so if one fails, the Samsung S9 will default to another. Then we have the iris scan do-over which if it fails at first try you can click the replay button so that it triggers the scan again instead of waiting to reset.
Stereo Speakers:
Samsung has boosted its speakers which are tuned by AKG. There are two speakers located on the device. One on the top and one at the bottom. Not only that, there are a number of effects and setting that you can go through. For example, The Dolby Atmos lets you feel as if the audio is physically surrounding you. Then you can change the bass, treble, and vocal to your choice.
Split screen mode:
With split screen mode you can use two apps at the same time according to your need instead of having to close and reopen each one at a time. With this feature, you can easily alternate between apps, adjust the size and display accordingly and copy information from one app to the other easily. You can watch videos or browse the internet and at the same time chat with friends on social media.
Samsung Pay:
With Samsung Pay you can make a payment at any terminal you like even if they do not accept mobile payments. Samsung Pay acts like the magnetic stripe on your credit card which you can use by holding it near the mag-stripe reader and making your payment. Some buyers can even get cash back for using Samsung Pay with certain retailers.
