Overview:

Xiaomi Inc. a chines company kicked off in the market in 2011 when it launched its first Android Smartphone. Its products have become very popular among its users and it continues to impress us. Once again Xiaomi has released an Eye catching mobile phone “XiaomiRedmi Note 4”, another addition to its Redmi series. Like always Xiaomi aimed to provide its users with high-end specifications and features while remaining in the budget friendly zone. Could this be its flagship Smartphone? let’s find out.

Design and Display:

While looking at the mobile you can just see how much it has improved as compared to Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi has succeeded in giving a finer tuned and premium looks to the Smartphone. The device supports a full metal chassis covered with a 2.5 D glass and elegantly curved edges. At the back, you can see the clean diamond cut antenna lines along with the rear camera and the round fingerprint scanner. The polished back with chamfered edges looks stunning and it feels great to hold.

This time there are no speaker grilles on the rear side, instead, there are six holes drilled on each side on the bottom edge of the phone (there is still just a mono speaker manufactured below them). The speaker grilles at the bottom edge offer better (less muffled) audio. Set between the speaker grilles you can spy the MicroUSB port on the bottom edge as well. The aesthetic appeal of the phone is enhanced by the symmetrical arrangement of the front camera, earpiece, and the proximity sensor. On the top edge are housed the headphone jack and the infrared sensor. The volume rocker and Power button are placed on the right edge whereas the left side contains the ‘3- choose-2 hybrid’ SIM card tray.

Redmi Note 4 supports a 5.5 inch IPS full HD display, the display size meets the average score of the modern smartphones. The large display features a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution which boosts the overall display quality. As compared to its predecessors the brightness and color accuracy are much more refined, that means that sunlight readability wont be much of an issue. The viewing angles are superb and the display is pretty responsive (considering that this is a budget phone).

Performance and Battery:

Redmi Note 4 comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an Octa-Core processor clocked at 2 GHz. Paired with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal Storage we get an astounding snappy performance. Apps and games are loaded quickly and the UI is quick and responsive. You won’t face any lag during Multitasking or surfing the web between a number of browsing tabs. Graphics are also spot on so heavy gamer’s will love this device.

There’s the amazing Battery Capacity ‘4100 mAh’, it looks like there is nothing to not love about this Mobile phone. Its run time depends on how you utilize your phone if you’re a normal user then you will be able to extend the battery life for about 2 days. After heavy usage, you might still have some battery juice left after a full day.

Redmi Note 4 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with MIUI 8. MIUI 8 provides refreshing customization and comes packed with a number of new features. There is the one handed mode which allows you to shrink the screen to 4.5, 4.0 or 3.5 inches, a quick swap from left to right on the navigation keys will take you to this mode. The dual app and Second space features are one of the best smartphone features. The dual app feature lets you make two instances of an app on the same smartphone (like two WhatsApp accounts). With the Second space feature, you can separate your personal and business data on the same phone (like two separate Google accounts). The overall Software experience is amazing on Redmi Note 4 with a number of other enhanced features.

Main Feature ‘Camera’:

For photo lovers, any Smartphone comes down to its camera. The 13 Megapixels rear camera comes with the f/2.0 lens aperture and a dual tone flash (made by Sony). The shots taken show off beautiful realistic colors with sufficient amount of details. However, the sharpness isn’t the best and there is slight blurring in the images. By using the HDR mode you can fine tune the pictures taking in more detail. The camera’s focus is speedy and can capture moving objects, but do not be surprised if there is a slight blur in the shots. The quality of videos is not so bad either. The 5 Megapixels front camera supports a f/2.0 lens, it takes some great selfies and group photos. The color reproduction is accurate and the camera comes with a beauty mode so you can look your best. Some other modes offered by Redmi’s camera app include time-lapse, Slow-mo, manual controls and the straighten mode.

Verdict:

When we consider that this Smartphone is, in fact, a budget friendly device, Redmi Note 4 meets all ends in the competitive market. Smooth performance, decent camera (both rear and front), amazing software, excellent battery capacity and a charming exterior. If you want a low priced Smartphone with extensive features then we recommend you Redmi Note 4.
